The date of Lok Sabha elections 2024 has been decided and the model code of conduct has also been implemented in the district. Voting is to be held in Darbhanga, Bihar on May 13, but no party has yet announced the name of its candidate from Darbhanga Lok Sabha. This time in the Lok Sabha elections, AIMIM has announced to contest on 11 seats in Bihar, which also includes Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat. It is believed that due to this the parties are facing some difficulty in selecting the candidates.
At present the situation is such that even the present BJP MPs are not able to say who will contest the elections from Darbhanga. On the other hand, ‘INDIA’ has also not been able to decide which party will hold this seat. In fact, Darbhanga seat has been held by Congress five times while Janata Dal and RJD have held it four-five times. At the same time, BJP MPs have won elections from here five times. At the same time, this time the people of Darbhanga are waiting for the announcement of the names of the candidates.
A total of 29 lakh 19 thousand 406 voters will cast their votes for Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat. Among these, the number of male voters is 15 lakh 35 thousand 515 and the number of female voters is 13 lakh 83 thousand 837. At the same time, 54 voters of transgender category (trans community) will cast their votes.
Amidst waiting for the announcement of the names of the candidates, AIMIM’s Bihar Joint Secretary Mohd. Kalam claimed that if BJP has to be defeated in Bihar, ‘INDIA’ will have to support AIMIM. Not only this, the party says that if ‘INDIA’ does not field its candidate from the seat where AIMIM will contest, the election results of Bihar can be changed.
He said that even after 15 years of alliance in Bihar, RJD has not been able to defeat BJP, due to which RJD did not get even a single Lok Sabha seat in Bihar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Also other alliances also did not benefit. At the same time, AIMIM had spoiled the equation of candidates standing in Seemanchal. In such a situation, if BJP has to be kept away from power, then everyone will have to fight this election together. We have just announced to contest elections on 11 seats. But our aim is to contest elections on 20 seats in Bihar.
